The word “mandala” itself means “circle” and, often, that’s what a mandala looks like. A circle. Circles have a very evocative meaning in Buddhist religious traditions. Mandalas arose in Himalayan religious traditions as artistic ways of representing the spiritual universe. The ancient tibetan scriptures think of time as circular, having a creation period, a period of flourishing existence, and a destruction that leads to another inevitable creation. Modern mandalas we can see in coloring books or contemporary artwork are used as means to reduce stress, connect deeply with oneself and appreciate forms of beauty in the world.
Kalachakra mandala is one of the powerful mandala to create positive vibration and peace in the mind, which was reintroduce by His Holiness Dalai lama. This Kalachakra mandala is using to purify our chakra from body. Our body have seven chakra but among them three chakra are most important in our life, which are describe as OM(BODY), AH(SPEECH), HUM(MIND). So through the meditation we have to control our body speech and mind, because we do all negative activities from these three chakras.  So when we control or purify our these three chakras then our mind will think positive, our speech will come positive and our activities also will do positive. And when our these chakras comes with positive then we will collect positive karma which will help for us to get good life in next life.
And this Kalachakra mandala represent wheel of time so this mandala painted with three background color, orange, blue and red which represent morning day and evening. And these colors are using for meditation with different propose. Like morning orange color is using as symbol of good luck, love and compassion. Day blue color using as a symbol of good health, success and peace and evening time red color represents protection, power and energy.
